The USPS Domestic Mail Manual transformation project employed a user-centered design approach and an interdisciplinary team to improve the efficiency and clarity of a key USPS operational manual. One goal was to shift the perspective of the DMM from a list of rules, regulations and dense, text-based information to a guide that has clear language, diagrams and images to communicate and support interaction with mail users. I was intimately involved with development of early prototypes for "A Guide to Mailing for Businesses and Nonprofit Organizations." I researched and assessed customer needs, developed information architecture; created artwork, typography and page design.
