Girls, Math & Science Partnership (GMSP), part of Family Communications, Inc. partnered with the School of Design to create multimedia projects throughout designated spaces in the city of Pittsburgh. The series of projects called Explanatoids are created to help individuals in the community think differently about what science is and who can do it.
Our project objective was to help young people, particularly girls, explore math and science through real world questions. After conducting research, my partner and I created a 30-second video clip, "Curveball Kitty" that illustrates the science behind a curveball and shows that science can be fun. This video was shown on the PNC Park Jumbotron before each Pittsburgh Pirates' home game.
