This illustration is part of a popup comparing the competing technologies of Blu-ray and HD DVD. Researching the topic online was initially important, as I found the diagrams to help me better understand the technology. But as I interpreted the graphics, I felt they lacked a spatial component that was key in clarifying the connection between the size of the laser and the amount of information written on the discs. After creating a final sketch on paper, I really challenged myself in Illustrator and Photoshop in order to successfully execute my vision.
